Quang Nam has established five industrial zones and 32 centrally planned industrial groups that have attracted many investment projects with a hundred factories and which employ over 40 thousand laborers. The most outstanding industrial zones are Điện Nam and Điện Ngọc located 20 km from Da Nang 20 with an area of 418 ha and the possibility of expansion by another 300 ha. Điện Ngọc reportedly holds 38 projects. Twenty-three are motobike assembly, electronics, agriculture, forestry and aquaculture processing, cosmetic and office stationary production and textiles. Quảng Nam was the first province in the country to establish Chu Lai Open Economic Zone. The zone has attracted 116 projects with total invested capital of 1.4 billion USD. Licenses have been granted to 66 projects with a total invested capital of 720.6 million USD, including 25 foreign invested projects. Preferential policies designed to encourage investment include: low land and water lease rates in compliance with current regulations set by People’s Committee. Land lease duration is up to 70 years with the possibility of extension. Projects investing in transport infrastructure have received up to 100 percent compensation for site clearance dependent on the size and nature of the site. Other investment costs are also supported.   Projects which employ many laborers in Chu Lai open economic zone have received support constructing accommodation for workers as well as for training. Investors also have access to a one-stop-shop and do not need to pay any fees related to their application other than fees was paid in accordance with state regulations.
